Dear Josh,
Thank you so much for clearing up my puzzlement of all that is going on at my Beloved Bellevue. I have been a member for 14 + years and I am truly dismayed at these things. I really, REALLY don't like the "PD movement" and I couldn't understand where this all came from... I thought Steve Gaines was arrogant and why would Dr. Rogers have so wanted him? I guess we can all be deceived by the "Angel of Light"... Please keep up this work. Bellevue members need to know and hear the truth. Can't some of the deacons do something about all of this?? Where, Oh Where is my Church?? I am grieved by all this. Please tell Mark Sharpe we are praying for him and for Truth and Light.

Dear Friend Josh,
Thank you for trying to telling the truth about things that seem so very complicated.

To the blogger at 3:05 pm 09-05....I did not threaten you with scripture only told you to read about the sons of Korah and the warning is for all that would rise up against God's appointed man. Also Dr. Roger's never said he was going to find another church to go to. He stated that he would continue to help Bellevue because it was his church too and the pastor (of Bellevue) would be his pastor too. Please don't take offense to this but be careful that your integrity is not lost when blogging if you don't have your facts straight.

That should help us all if we are going to continue this forum.

Thanks Josh

Josh

Thank you for this forum. You have put forth information that the church body needs to know about. Please tell Mark Sharp that my family is praying for him.

God Bless You, Josh.

I would like to address some of those who have been using Adrian Roger's name by throwing out quotes which he never would have meant in the context that they are now being used (such as "swallow and follow"). This breaks my heart, and I know with everything in me that it would break his. Yes, he loved Dr. Gaines. He went out of his way to "make a way for him". He put his trust in Dr. Gaines as pastor. He announced to all that he would sit faithfully under his pastor. He poured prayers into that man - he spent more time praying over this man and his family than many will ever know. He loved our church, and he wanted desperately for the church to adjust to the transition. He poured his life and ministry into our dear church, and he longed for it to live on. He set Gaines up perfectly to come in and be loved by the congregation. All of this said, I know that he would never want us to blindly follow a man without searching the scriptures and searching for truth. He would not have wanted anyone to blindly follow any man-- not any himself. I also know he did believe in accountability. He taught us to bring everything under God's light-- to not take his word for it-- but to test his words against THE WORD. He fought desperately against compromise of any kind. Lest we forget his memorable quote, "So far as getting together is concerned, we don't have to get together. The Southern Baptist Convention, as it is, does not have to survive. I don't have to be the pastor of Bellevue Baptist Church. I don't have to be loved; I don't even have to live. But I will not compromise the Word of God." This was his life. This was the man he was- a man of impecable character and integrity. I tell you today that his heart would be broken about those that believe that you follow a pastor no matter what. He believed in the truth at all costs. That is what this "blog" is about. The correct channels biblically have been followed. It is time for truth to come out. We must seek it all costs. I wish desperately he was here, and we had his wisdom on what to do.. but in his absence let us not misuse his words. Please remember everything he stood for: the TRUTH and the WORD OF GOD. I pray that we too will always stand for these things as we have been taught by this beloved man for all these years. How I pray that we will be able to find truth and accountability in the midst of all of the deception. Be faithful and PRAY-- with God all things are possible! My heart breaks for our dear Bellevue-- it is not the church I once knew.

How many members of Bellevue think the minister of music should receive a bigger salary than say... half of what the president of the United States makes? Does anyone have a clue how much the search committee agreed to pay the new minister of music? Just curious, since I support the church.
